Go Ye And Tell

“Call to Christians:  Go ye and tell”

By Pam Mangoma

Acts: 1:7 (New International Version):
He said to them:  “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.

Matthew 24:36 (New International version):
“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angles in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Of course no one knows the day nor the hour, but what we know is that its nigh. As one man of God said, “all I can tell you is that, its nearer now than Peter and Pauls’ time.” I know there has been a frenzy about the end of the world by many as seen in the “judgement day” fiasco broadcasted by Harold Camping.

How did you react to the news?  Some Christians reacted to this word with negativity, some in jest, scorn,  judgment.   Some found messages to preach as a result of all that.  Some just agreed with this word,  panicked and believed it. What then shall we say to these things? Where are the Christians with the word to teach the Truth?  Is it you who has it–the Word, that is? Have you shared it lately?  That’s the call I feel in my spirit. People are hungry for truth! A message that was broadcasted by a tiny station reached so many in the world and they believed the message. Are Christians sitting and waiting to be reactive to an ailing world?  Do we just wait to respond or waiting quietly for our own secret rapture? What is our take in “go-ye” and spreading the gospel? This “judgement day” issue just showed me that we have not done what we should be doing and that the field is still big and needs harvesting. We need to get out of our comfort zone and go share the good news.

If the world had ended on Saturday, May 21, 2011, I would not have been surprised.  I know, NOT BECAUSE I believed Harold Camping’s prophecy but because I KNOW it can be any day: today, tomorrow, next year. I believe the Lord does not want us to be pre-occupied with the date for His coming but be occupied in our assignments. What is your assignment?

I was thinking what Jesus said, … you are so busy and good at predicting the weather but not the times? Especially now, what shall we say to these weather patterns?

This is just a call to evaluation and prayer in one’s life and assignment. I, for one, believe that my scoring lacks and I need to PUSH. Surely if “Christians” can drive 3000 miles, throw their life savings away in supporting false prophecy, quit their jobs, pay atheists insurance money to watch their pets “if the rapture” takes place, then we need to preach to ourselves the Word of God first. May God help us!

My evaluation of the “Judgement day” fiasco caused me to repent before the Lord, on behalf of our brothers. God is sovereign and being God, the Lion and the Lamb, wrath could have been released in ways we have never seen, those that believed, those that stood to watch, those that spoke behind closed doors, and those that laughed at the brother instead of carrying him off the battlefield in love to restore.  Let’s pray for one another.   Above all, let’s thank God.  Even as we repent, lets thank Him for His forever love and protection.

Call His Name! Exalt and Worship Him!  Go Ye and tell!

Tell It Like It Is

“Tell it like it is…”

By Pam Mangoma

“and go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him.”
Matthew 28:7 [NKJV]

Easter has come and gone.  Jesus has risen!  What has changed in your life this week?  I wonder what your prayer was during the Passion Week.  As I read the “He is Risen” script in the bible, I noticed that the story does continue after Resurrection.  The Angel brought specific instructions to “go quickly and tell” that He is Risen.  He is not dead, all hope is not lost, there is life after death.  Christ has now conquered the grave and all His promises are about to be fulfilled for you.  He died so that you may be healed, forgiven, given access.  All the blood that was spilled was just for you not for Him.  Now, all this has taken place, and as a believer in Christ Jesus, you know that He is risen and you rejoice just like both Mary’s rejoiced.  The story does not end at joy and happiness but it continues all the way to “go quickly” and tell.  Tell somebody:  the believers who are cast down and low, the disciples who are still not sure if the resurrection can bring them hope.  I marveled at the scripture and realized that YES there is work to be done after Easter, to go and tell that He is Risen and He goes before you.  We are not alone in this journey brothers and sisters.  If we choose to follow Him, He has already gone before us.  Therefore, the journey has been mapped out in Him.  Today, I would like to invite you to join me on an assignment and journey to find a few believers and encourage them that the veil was torn, the stone was rolled away, He is alive and there is victory!  To those (unbelievers) who are on their way to believe and accept our Lord Jesus who has risen, lets love them, share the gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus and pass the message.  The message is “He died for you that you might be saved.  He lives!  You are a victor not a victim.

Enjoy your assignment as you go quickly and tell the good news to the believer and the unbeliever!

Be blessed.

How Awesome is this place

HOW Awesome Is This Place…!

“He was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven” Genesis 28v17 NIV ‘84

Jacob was running away from the luxuries of his home enroute to his uncle’s place.  His brother Esau had plans of killing him.  His mother then told him to flee to her brother’s house, marry a wife and he would be safe. His original home in Beersheba represents his comfort zone and his uncle’s place Haran represents his future.  Halfway from Beersheba to Haran, in verse 11 the bible records that Jacob arrived at “ A certain place…”  This place by way of commentary states that it is a desert, a place full of stones to this day.  A stony place..to the extent that he took a stone for a pillow for there was nothing else to use.  He did not like this place, did not ask to be in this place but he was in this place! Sounds familiar??.  He could not go back home for Esau awaiteth and he could not proceed to Haran for it was dusk and could not properly identify his future.  So at this “certain place” he rested.  Sometimes God takes us to a certain place.  We think God is in the future but not certain place.  We think if only I can reach Haran I shall be happy and God will visit with me.  Jacob used the stones in his life to rest.  He decided that this STONE will not manipulate me but I will manipulate it for rest.  Often times when we sit and rest, God will show up.  God shows up during stony times and places.  Sometimes we are waiting for Haran but it is this time, during this sickness, during this trying time, during this issue, during your current circumstances that God shows up.  Later Jacob declares, surely the Lord is in this place.  God uses this difficult time of his life to confirm/remind him of the blessing given to him by his father..Confirmation.  In no time, Jacob’s eyes opened and realized “How awesome is this place..!”Do not waste hurts and pains and stones..allow God to speak to you.  Rest my sister and Know that He is God.  He is in control always.

Word of the Week

“You prepare a table before me…you anoint my head…. my cup overflows..” Psalms 23 verse 5b

Faith~Full 5.

Special Word by Mother Lydia Ntezinde (MI)

Oh! This abundant God who gives without measure..In OVERFLOW mode!! Christmas 2010, we want to welcome Him into our hearts and homes too. May He bless you with His peace, fill us with His joy, and surround us with His love. We should celebrate Him and thank Him for coming. I feel so humbled by the fact that God gives abundantly. As you receive gifts rejoice in Him, even though the gift may appear “small” you did not have it in the first place. He entrusts it to us and therefore we should not forget where it came from – The One who gives abundantly!

Deuteronomy 8, Moses speaks to the children of Israel, after he had given them the 10 commandments and was reminding them of God’s goodness as they prepared to enter the Promised Land. Moses warned them, “When you have eaten your fill praise the Lord your God for the good land He has given you. But that is the time to be careful because you may forget the very God who took you up from Egypt”. We all have an “egypt” of some sort small ones or big ones. As Moses begins to warn, it does not matter how wealthy you feel we should not forget Him. God gave them water from the rock and fed them manna in the wilderness etc.. It is never our power, strength or energy that makes wealth, we should always remember that it is God who makes us rich. Even as we rejoice this Christmas, let us not forget from whence the joy cometh from.

The bible is full of stories about people who misplaced their priorities thinking they had it together but forgetting how much they really needed God. For instance, Adam in the Garden of Eden had everything but fell for the devil’s temptation. Noah after having survived the flood ended up drinking too much, even David, leader of a prosperous nation fell into temptation. If these people could forget the Lord, you might too but remember Moses’ instructions- Deuteronomy 8v 19 – 20 that we can easily be destroyed for worshipping and bowing down to other gods. We are not to forget that everything we have comes directly from Him. On success, the worst is a tendency to lose sight of Who and what is really important but on the other hand success can bring great opportunities. When we begin to direct our money, talents or time to further God’s kingdom on earth and to bless those around us, the joy is increased and God will give you more abundantly. I am also reminded of the Eternal Reward Jesus talks about in Luke 16 v 1 –12 and He reminds us that our generosity stores up a reward in Heaven, unless you are faithful in small matters its hard to be faithful in bigger or larger things. If you cheat a little you cannot be honest with greater responsibilities. Basically we cannot serve both God and money and only God is a good Master. I am reminded of Psalms 23 – His table provisions and overflow..always!. Above all, this Christmas, as you reflect on the gifts, the food, the fellowship, do not forget God gave us Jesus abundantly! You have the abundance of the Holy Spirit!!! Without Measure!! Be Faith-full. Merry Christmas.

Even So Series – FaithFull4

Even So, He Remains Faithful Series…

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” I Thessalonians 5 v 16-18

Faith~Full 4.

What is the will of God in giving thanks? Rejoice always, in ALL things and to pray without ceasing. The next verse says “give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”. It is the will of our Father that we give thanks in all circumstances. It is difficult to give thanks when life happens. When sickness comes, lack, trying moments, it is not befitting that we thank God, if anything we want to cry out “unfair!”. However, when the path is clear, blessings defined, doors opening and all is well, we want to sing the song of the Lord in thanksgiving, but the scripture says all seasons and says it is the WILL of God. We were created to worship Him, and also that it is HIS will that we give thanks in all circumstances. Worshipping Him and giving thanks for each stage of our lives go hand in hand. During this season of thanksgiving, we can not be found without a thanksgiving list of unending worship and praise to God. Count your blessings, name them, may the Spirit of God cause your spiritual eyes to “see” what He has done and not done for you. In lack, choose to thank God for an opportunity to see His miracle of provision, in sickness then thank God for we believe AND know that he heals and we shall see healing like no other, beyond the report of the doctor! In weakness, we shall thank God for the positioning to see the manifestation of His strength in us, when laid off work, then await in thanksgiving for the next season has finally arrived. When lost on the highway, thank God for a fresh view of His creation and unknown roads and removal from harms way. That really leaves us with no room to complain

The bible says “do all things without complaining and disputing that you may become blameless and harmless children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation among whom you shine as lights in the world” Phil 2v14. Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Phil 4v6. Be blessed as you thank God for His faithfulness and be filled with faith and be faith-full!
